Updates
Friday, October 20th, 2006I finally got of my rear end and updated to WordPress 2.0.4. Transmit certainly made it easy, seeing as this is the first update I actually did since losing shell access when I stopped working for Laughing Squid (where you can still get kick-ass hosting). I really should break down and buy a copy one of these days (of course, if someone out there wants to buy me a copy I’ll take that too – just put ‘panic’ in front of the at sign and ‘johnmc.org’ behind it and I’ll get it).
I’m back on the evening shift now, so no more having to be at work by 4 am. I get there by 2:30 pm and stay til half an hour past midnight (of course, Google Calendar gets confused by this, so my shifts end at midnight according to it). I miss the familiar faces, but see some others. There’s certainly a lot less of the behind-the-scenes stuff going on later in the day, but that means we get a chance to work on some of the more interesting side projects.
In the “blast from the past” category, The Unofficial Apple Weblog linked to a modern version of the classic Flying Toasters Screensaver. There’s a version for you heathens using XP too. Oh yeah – don’t forget Frozen Bubble which ate a healthy portion of my morning.
Time for lunch.
