Citywide WiFi for Sacramento
Wednesday, June 20th, 2007I stopped off at the Peet’s inside my local Raley’s yesterday and noticed a story on the front page of the Sacramento Bee about the Sacramento City Council voting on Thursday on whether to authorize a group to blanket the entire city with WiFi. One of the immediate possibilities I thought of was being stuck in traffic on one of the city’s freeways and being able to pull up one of the traffic websites out there on your laptop, PSP or iPhone (not that you necessarily need WiFi for the last one, but the possibility exists). Hopefully this gets passed and we can look forward to free access to the intertubes from thin air within the boundaries of our state’s capital.
