One post a month? Go me!

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

Well, I never made it to the Harvest Festival to check out the municipal Wi-Fi thing I posted about at the start of the month, so I don’t have anything else to post about there.

In airport news, the Terminal Modernization Plan was on the news recently and it looked pretty damn good. Construction is set to begin at the start of next year and should take about 3 years. Visual Paging went live at the end of last week and it’s working pretty well. There was a whole lot of work put into it on our part, and it’s good to see it in use.

Well, it’s past midnight, so I have some things to finish up before heading for home. I’ll leave it at that for now.

So the Wi-Fi thing didnt work for Sacramento, how about closer to home?

Apparently, the wi-fi deal for Sacramento that I mentioned earlier is a no go, but there’s one that’s even closer to home for me – Frontier, the phone company I love to hate, are rolling out paid outdoor wi-fi in Elk Grove. There’s nothing concrete on how much it costs yet, but there’s apparently a trial going on this weekend at the Harvest Festival. I might just go and check it out.

Another month, another post.

Apart from the little flickr blip, there’s been nothing out of me for a month. Since that time, my Wii developed an issue where it wouldn’t accept any disks, but would make a nasty grinding noise whenever a disk was inserted. Nintendo were really helpful and sent an advance replacement unit (they send us the replacement and we use the box it came in to send the old one back). Unfortunately, the replacement had a similar issue, so they sent us a second one. That one burnt down, fell over and then sank into the swamp. Actually, it was fine. A bunch of us played a rented copy of Mario Party 8 last night, which was a whole load of fun. I can see that one being added to the library pretty soon.

Other than that, we took a trip to Disneyland. Photos are here. Since I was behind the camera for the majority of them, I only feature in one photo.
